Tools for Teens

More Than Tools—They’re Building Blocks

When tools are donated to our program, they are thoughtfully repurposed in three meaningful ways:

1. Treasure Boxes & Functional Art

We use donated tools to create handcrafted treasure boxes—safe, personal spaces where foster youth can keep their most important belongings as they move from place to place.

We also build and customize functional art—furniture pieces designed around a young person’s personality, passions, and identity.

A nightstand painted with galaxies.
A desk inspired by music or skate culture.
A bookshelf that reflects who they are.

These pieces are more than furniture—they’re a sense of ownership, stability, and self-expression.

2. Tools for the Trades

For foster youth pursuing careers in the trades, access to tools can be a barrier.

When we meet a young person ready to build a career—whether in construction, mechanics, electrical work, or beyond—we place tools directly into their hands.

Not as a handout.
As a vote of confidence.

3. Fueling the Mission

Some donated tools are resold, with all proceeds going directly back into our programs—supporting more builds, more youth, and more opportunities.

Nothing goes to waste. Every tool continues its journey.

Why This Matters

Foster youth often move frequently, with few possessions they can truly call their own.
At the same time, many are eager to create, build, and define their future.

This program meets them in both places:

  • Providing stability through meaningful objects

  • Unlocking creative expression

  • Supporting real-world career paths

Donate Tools. Build Futures.

If you have tools—new or used, electric or manual—we would love to put them to work in a way that truly matters.

Your donation could become:

  • A keepsake box that travels with a child through every chapter

  • A custom piece of furniture that reflects who they are

  • A starter kit for a future electrician, carpenter, or mechanic

Reach out to us via our Contact Page to donate tools or learn more.
Together, we can turn what you no longer need into something a young person will never forget.
