Youth in Transition
Stepping into adulthood—with support, dignity, and endless possibility.
For foster youth, turning 18 isn’t just a milestone—it’s a turning point. As they prepare to graduate high school, leave foster homes, and step into independence, many are doing so without the safety nets most young adults rely on.
At World Orphan Connection, we’re here to help bridge that gap—ensuring that no young person has to navigate this transition alone. We work directly with social workers in Colorado counties to make this happen.
Building a Foundation for Independence
Through our partnership with Arc Thrift Stores, we provide gift cards that empower youth to choose what they need as they take their first steps into adulthood. From furnishing a first apartment to stocking a kitchen or finding clothes for work or school, these resources offer more than material support—they offer choice, dignity, and a sense of ownership. Starting fresh should feel empowering—not overwhelming.
Honoring Milestones
Graduating high school is a powerful achievement—one that deserves to be celebrated and remembered.
We work with volunteer photographers who donate their time and talent to provide free senior portraits for foster youth approaching graduation. These sessions capture a moment of pride, resilience, and possibility—something many of these young people might not otherwise have.
A Stronger Start
Whether it’s a couch for a first apartment, cookware for daily life, or a photo that marks a major milestone, our goal is simple: to help young people step into adulthood feeling prepared, seen, and supported.
If you’d like to contribute—through donations, partnerships, or volunteering—we’d love to hear from you.
Financial donations can also be made directly through our website to help expand this program and reach more youth at this critical moment.
Together, we can help ensure that every young person has a stronger start.
